Privacy Policy

Wehl respects your privacy and is committed to protecting such privacy in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy explains Wehl’s treatment of your personally identifiable information collected in connection with your activities on Wehl and all services made available on Wehl (collectively, the "Wehl Services" or “Services”). This Privacy Policy also explains how you can ask questions and make suggestions about our privacy practices and review and update your information.

We urge you to read this Privacy Policy carefully and to check back periodically as this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies or Web Sites which are not owned or controlled by Wehl.

There are three key pillars of our Privacy Policy that we would really like to share with you. These differ from other major social networks. If you value privacy, you will appreciate how seriously we treat your personally identifiable information:

We don't sell your social networking behaviors.

We’ll now go into further details about what we collect, and how we use and disclose it.

1. Information Collected

When you use Wehl, we limit our collection of personally identifiable information to the following:

  • Information you and other users provide. We collect the information you and other users choose to provide when you and others use our Services, including when you sign up for an account, create posts and tips, and communicate with others and with us.

  • Information about financial transactions. If you use our Services for financial transactions, information about the transaction is collected, including via Stripe. This includes your payment information (such as your credit card number and other card information), other account and authentication information, as well as billing and contact details.

  • Device information. We collect information from or about the devices where you install or access our Services. We also collect certain information which is stored on a cookie. Cookies are like mini-files that live on your device and prevent you from having to re-enter the same information over and over again. Cookies offer you the most efficient way to access our Services from your device. You have the ability to delete these cookies off your device if you choose.

2. Use of Information

We use this information for the following limited purposes:

  • Providing you with the Services and information you have requested from us, including your use of Wehl. We may from time to time use your information to contact you about changes, enhancements or similar notices related to the Services.

  • If the Wehl Services you signed up to include the provision of an e-mail newsletter, Wehl may send you e-mail materials from time to time. If at any time you would like to end your subscription to any such e-mail materials, follow the directions posted at the bottom of the e-mail material.

  • If you enter a contest or other promotion offered on Wehl, we may, under the rules of the promotion, use your name and certain other information to administer the promotion, such as contacting, announcing and promoting the winners of the promotion.

  • Wehl may also use your information if it has reasonable grounds to believe the information could be useful when investigating a contravention of a federal, provincial or foreign law or in order to protect or defend a legal interest or to promote safety and security.

3. Disclosure of Information

You can limit how your information is shared through settings in your account (for example, through public and private settings when editing your profile). All posts and tips, relationships with other users, wehlness choices, and information you choose to display about your wehlness, are shared to all Wehl users in keeping with Wehl’s mission to promote health and wellness throughout our community. When you publish posts and tips, it means that you are allowing everyone, including people off of Wehl, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you (i.e. your name and profile picture).

We will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone. We will only disclose your personally identifiable information in any of the following circumstances:

  • Where you have specifically given us your consent to do so for a specific purpose.

  • Where a service provider is supporting our business, solely to enable us to more efficiently provide you with the Services (including customer service, technical support, and payments). Such entities act under strict contractual controls, requiring them to maintain the confidentiality of all such personally identifiable information.

  • As required by law, including by an order of any court, institution or body with jurisdiction or authority to compel the production of information, or in order to protect or defend a legal interest.

  • In connection with a Wehl corporate re-organization, merger or amalgamation with another entity, or a sale of all or a substantial portion of the assets of Wehl provided that the information disclosed continues to be used for the purposes permitted by this Privacy Policy by the entity acquiring the information.

4. Links to Other Sites

A Wehl Service may contain links to other Web sites and services. While we try to link only to sites and services that share our high standards and respect for privacy, please understand that we are not responsible for the content of, or the privacy practices employed by, other companies or Web sites. This Privacy Policy applies only to the Services referencing this Privacy Policy.

5. Security

The security of your personally identifiable information is important to us. Wehl takes technical, contractual, administrative, and physical security steps to protect personally identifiable information that you provide to us.

In certain areas, such as when you provide credit card information through Stripe, we work to help protect the security of your credit card information during transmission by using industry standard Secure Sockets Layer ("SSL") encryption technology.

You can help protect the security of your personally identifiable information as well.  For instance, never give out your password, since this is what is used to access your account or registration information. Also remember to log out of your account and close your browser window when you finish using Wehl, so that other people using the same device won’t have access to your information.

6. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Wehl may, from time to time, change its Privacy Policy as new Services are added or old ones are changed. Changes will be effective when such updated Privacy Policy is posted on Wehl. Please check this Privacy Policy regularly for updates.

7. Accessing and Changing Account Information

Wehl provides you with the means to access, update, edit or delete any account or registration information you may have provided to us at any time on your own by going to the appropriate page in the account or registration section of the relevant Wehl Service, and changing or deleting such information as desired.

If you are unsure whether we have a record containing any of your personally identifiable information and would like to confirm whether or not we do, please send an e-mail to our Privacy Manager at [email protected], indicating all e-mail addresses that you may have given us.

If you decide at any time that you do not want to receive any e-mail materials to which you have subscribed, you may choose to unsubscribe to these e-mails by following the instructions at the bottom of the e-mail material.
